Where to stay

Our recommendation is to stay either in Verona (Veronetta is nice) or close to us in Valpolicella. Most of the program will take place where we live (Villa Verità). There are some places at walking distance,  and plenty of options nearby in Valpolicella or Verona. You can find everything on Booking or Airbnb, but here are a few suggestions; La Contrá Valpolicella in Fumane, <NR 2>, and <NR3>.

In any case, book as soon as you can! July is smack in the middle of high season.

Trains, planes and automobiles

Trains

The options for night trains to Milano have improved, like a lot. Both in terms of travel time as in cost. Especially if you are coming from Amsterdam, Brussels, Paris and London, definitely something to consider.

Planes

You can fly to Verona directly from most airports. The airport is easy-going and very close to either Verona or Valpolicella. Otherwise Milano is the best alternative. Take into account the train journey though. Tertiary options in combination with a train are Venezia, Roma and Firenze.

Automobiles

In case you are coming by car take into account it tends to take much longer than what Google Maps predicts. Parking in Valpolicella is easy and free. In Verona it's a little more complicated, but still relatively easy and not that expensive.

Taxi

In Valpolicella there are zero taxi's around and buses back to Verona stop going rather early, therefore we are currently looking into some kind of deal for private transport (which you could then reserve).

NOTE: To get around do consider renting a car. There are some cheaper companies aside the train station. And take into account you cannot enter the old part of Verona by car.

Children

We love you all, and also your children. For our love weekend we do prefer to celebrate without (too many) children around. Of course being parents ourselves we know this can be quite a challenge. So if you really cannot join us without taking your kids please contact us (or comment in the RSVP form).

Dresscode

Come as your best self,  a sun kissed twinkle and bright spark. For those used to more traditional weddings with suits and tuxedos and all; this one is different. Think of summer vibes, something fancy not formal, and more wild than normal, as that's we're going for.

Date

Our celebration of love weekend takes place on July 10, 11 and 12. With Saturday July 11th being the most important day, as this is the day of the ceremony.

Recommendations (Soulpicks)

Below you find some of the nicer bars, restaurants, and other places that we know of, in and around Verona or Valpolicella. Verona will be quite busy in summer time, due to the Romeo and Juliet thing, but if you venture out early or late, or move around the crowded areas, it is a beautiful historic city to visit. And Valpolicella is one of the most famous and oldest wine regions in Italy, and not touristic at all.

Worth seeing in Verona are the Duomo, the oldest library in the world, Piazza Erbe, the walk or funicolare up to Castel San Pietro, and of course the arena. In Valpolicella there are like thousands of wineries so it is impossible to chose. You do need a car to reach most of them though.

Then there is Lago di Garda, 40 min away, Lessinia at 80 min, and even The Dolomites are only 2.5 hours of driving. In addition to Venezia and Milano, the cities nearby which are absolutely worth visiting, and easy and quick to reach by train, are Padova, Mantova, Vicenza, Parma, Bologna, Brescia, and Modena.
